Club Fishout Weekend at Nulki Lake - May8-10, 2026
This year the club held a fishout at Saik'uz Park & Campground on Nulki Lake for the May 8 weekend. Randy wolaszec, Bob Moody and grandkids, Dave and Debbie McMinn, Gary Harris and grandson, and Ray and Maureen Jacobs attended. Fishing for rainbows was slow (fishing for Pike Minnows was on fire) bot some nice ones made it to the nets. The highlight tough was the fireside gathering nightly where everyone got to visit and relive the day, roast wennies and marshmallows and just end the day off with friends.
"Fishing Forever" with CNIB - June 6, 2026
Once again the Polar Coachman club hosted a group of folks served by the C.N.I.B at Vivian lake for a day of fishing, visiting and a barbeque lunch. This is always a great day for the members who volunteer their day to share our passion with people who don't get to be out on the water as often as we do.
Brian Smith takes second prize in RHB50 fly tying challenge
To mark the 50th anniversary of the passing of Roderick Haig-Brown, Vancouver Island fly fisher Rory Glennie, in affiliation with Haig-Brown house issued a world-wide challenge earlier this year, to tie two of RHB's iconic steelhead flies and submit them for judging. Never one to back down from a challenge, our own Brian Smith sent in his 2 entries and walked away with Second Prize!! Congratulations Brian, you keep showing the rest of the world that North Central BC has some of the very best talent out there. We couldn't be prouder.
Annual Potluck Dinner and Gift Exchange
The annual year end get together was again a great success! Good food, good laughs and most of all good companionship.
